After experimenting for a decade, we found these to be the most friendly to the NBHCP's "covered species" and budget. So when we were confronted with a lawn that was overgrown and too wet to mow, we did a goat "trail drive," moved the goats from wetlands to the residence, and let them eat it down. (The residence is a farm house on one of the Conservancy's preserves.) It was an experiment. But it worked, and worked well. Plus the goats added some fertilizer to the lawn. It only took them a half a day to give the lawn a hair cut. We'll invite them back again if we have a similar problem. The little guys earned their pay today!
